Why Most Dubai Google Ads Campaigns Waste 30–50% of Their Budget

The average Google Ads account I audit in Dubai has the same set of problems. They are not caused by bad luck they are caused by accounts that were set up once, never properly structured, and left running on autopilot.

I find at least four of these six problems in every account I audit. Usually all six.

Problem 01

Broad match, no negatives

Bidding on broad match with no negative keyword list. A Dubai property company bidding on "apartments" gets shown to people searching "apartment decor ideas". Every irrelevant click costs money. Properly managed accounts need 200–400 negative keywords. Most accounts I inherit have fewer than 20.

Problem 02

Bloated ad groups

Single ad groups with 40+ keywords. Quality Scores drop to 3–5/10 because no single ad can be relevant to all of them. Result: you pay more per click for worse positions. Fix: 3–8 closely related keywords per ad group with copy written specifically for those terms.

What is the difference between Google Ads and Meta Ads for Dubai businesses?
Google Ads captures existing demand it shows your ad to someone actively searching for what you offer. Meta Ads creates demand it interrupts someone who is not actively searching but may be interested. Google Ads delivers higher-intent leads because the person has already decided they want something. Meta Ads reaches a wider audience at lower cost per impression but with lower immediate intent. For most Dubai service businesses, Google Ads is the higher priority for direct lead generation, with Meta Ads supporting brand awareness. I manage both and can advise which is right for your goals.
My Google Ads account has been running a year but is not performing. Can it be fixed?
Almost always yes. In 9 years I have yet to audit a Google Ads account that could not be significantly improved. The question is whether fixing the existing account is more efficient than rebuilding. For accounts with 12+ months of conversion data, fixing preserves valuable historical performance data the algorithm uses.
