My name is Sumayya Latheef. I am a licensed digital marketing freelancer based in Dubai, UAE, with 9 years of professional experience across SEO, Google Ads, social media marketing, WordPress development, and email marketing.
I hold a Dubai Freelancer Licence and an Advertiser Permit issued by the relevant UAE authorities which means I am legally registered and authorised to deliver digital marketing services and run paid advertising campaigns in the Emirates. I have worked with 500+ clients across the GCC, the Netherlands, Spain, and India. I have been doing this since 2017 not as a side hustle, not as a career pivot after something else did not work out, but as a deliberate, full-time professional commitment from the very beginning.
I graduated with a B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I had spent four years studying hard, believing that a degree would open doors.
It did not at least not the ones I expected.
2016 was a difficult year for fresh engineering graduates in the job market. I sent applications. I attended interviews. I waited. Nothing came. That period of rejection and uncertainty is one I do not gloss over, because it is the reason I am sitting here today with nine years of digital marketing experience and a practice I built from zero.
When the conventional path closed, I started paying attention to a different world.
I had noticed something that fascinated me. Small businesses were starting to find customers online without spending a rupee on traditional advertising. Restaurants in Dubai were filling tables through Instagram. Real estate agents were generating leads through Google. Brands that nobody had heard of were becoming known overnight through well-placed content and paid campaigns. The entire mechanism of how people discover, research, and buy things was shifting and most businesses had no idea how to navigate it.
I saw that gap and I walked into it.
In 2017, I started learning digital marketing not from a single course, not from a certificate programme, but from a combination of formal learning, self-study, and immediately applying everything I learned to real work. Digital marketing in Dubai was still relatively young at that point. The industry was figuring itself out. Agencies were hiring anyone who could run a Facebook ad. Businesses were spending money online with no strategy and wondering why it was not working.
That environment messy, early, full of trial and error was where I built my foundation. And it gave me something that people who learned digital marketing in 2022 simply do not have: I have seen this industry grow up. I have lived through every major platform change, every Google algorithm update, every shift in consumer behaviour. I did not read about the rise of Instagram Stories or the shift from keyword stuffing to content quality I worked through them in real time with real client accounts.
Agency life is unlike anything else. You are not working on one business you are working on ten at once. A real estate developer needs leads from Google Ads. A restaurant chain in Dubai wants Instagram growth. A healthcare clinic needs to rank on page one for competitive medical keywords. A fashion e-commerce brand needs its email automation rebuilt. You are switching context every hour, and every client is watching the numbers every week.
Across my agency years I worked with clients in:
Both residential and commercial, generating property enquiries through SEO, Google Ads, and social media in one of Dubai's most competitive digital marketing environments
Building Instagram communities, running food delivery campaigns, and helping restaurants fill tables through organic content and targeted local advertising
Medical clinics, dermatology practices, dental groups — running Google Ads within the strict advertising compliance guidelines that apply to healthcare in the UAE
Across categories from fashion to electronics to home goods, managing Meta Shopping campaigns, Google Shopping, SEO product pages, and email automation
Law firms, accounting practices, consulting businesses where the buyer journey is long, trust is everything, and content marketing combined with SEO consistently outperforms paid advertising
Institutions offering courses, certifications, and professional development programmes, with a particular focus on lead generation through paid search
Going freelance was not a decision I made because I could not find agency work. I made it because I had spent years watching clients get passed from senior strategist to junior account manager, watching budgets get diluted by agency overhead, watching the gap between what was promised in a pitch and what was actually delivered. I knew I could do better more focused, more direct, more accountable.
But I was also clear about something from the start: I was going to do this legally and properly.
In Dubai, the freelance economy is large and largely informal. A significant number of people offering digital marketing services operate without any licence, without any legal registration, without any accountability structure. They take projects, deliver work of varying quality, and if something goes wrong the client has no recourse.
I chose a different path.
I obtained my Dubai Freelancer Licence through the relevant UAE government authority. I also hold an Advertiser Permit a separate authorisation that permits me to run paid advertising campaigns in the UAE. This is particularly relevant for Google Ads and Meta Ads work. If you hire an unlicensed freelancer in Dubai and a dispute arises over deliverables, over results, over anything you have almost no legal standing.
Before anything else, we talk. I want to understand your business, your goals, your current digital presence, and your biggest frustrations with marketing. I will ask direct questions and give you honest answers including whether I think digital marketing is the right investment for you right now, and if so, where to start.
Before recommending any service, I audit what exists. I look at your website's technical SEO health, your Google Search Console data if available, your social media performance, any existing paid campaigns, and your competitors. The strategy I recommend comes from that audit not from a pricing menu.
I send a written proposal that specifies exactly what will be delivered, by when, at what cost. No vague "ongoing optimisation" language. No hidden fees. No "the results depend on factors outside our control" disclaimers without explanation. You know what you are buying.
We sign a service agreement before work begins. This protects both of us. It defines the scope, the timeline, the deliverables, the payment terms, and what happens if either party wants to change direction. Because I am a licensed UAE freelancer, this agreement is enforceable under UAE law.
I work with a maximum number of active clients at any time so that every client gets genuine attention. You have direct access to me not a support ticket system, not a junior assistant. I update you proactively, not just when you ask.
Every month you receive a report that shows exactly what happened rankings, traffic, leads, ad performance, social growth. Not a vanity metrics report designed to make things look good. An honest report that shows what worked, what did not, and what the plan is for next month.
That have a proven product or service and need digital marketing to scale their customer acquisition not to figure out whether their business model works. I am a marketing professional, not a business consultant, and I do my best work when the offer is solid.
who want direct communication, honest reporting, and a genuine partner not a vendor who sends a monthly PDF and disappears. I work with a small number of active clients precisely so I can give each one real attention.
who need someone who understands the local digital landscape search behaviour, platform preferences, cultural nuance, advertising compliance and can bridge that with international marketing standards.
who want to learn digital marketing properly and are willing to commit to the process. I do not do fast-track crash courses. I teach the way I learned through real tools, real campaigns, and honest conversation about what works and what does not.
